Probably the best way to surf anonoymously is by using TOR (it’s full title is The Onion Router). TOR allows you to surf the web covertly through an international network of vounteered IPs. To use TOR you need to download software onto your computer. An alternative to TOR is ItsHidden.

However, often using TOR will not be appropriate, for example if you are using an Internet cafe, or a friend’s machine. In such an instance, the following will be more useful: Anonymous web browser, The Cloak, Megaproxy, surfbypass, ctunnel and Anonymouse.

There are email services that allow you to quickly set up a short-term email account. These allow you to, for example, quickly and anonymously register for a site without giving away your usual email address. Good examples of this are 10minutemail and MeltMail. An alternative is to use services like whisperbot and sendinc which send messages securely, whilst Vanish creates messages that are destroyed for every after just a few hours.
